Review: Kniteforce Records reissued some seminal tunes by John Lisners aka Baraka back in November. They were originally written in 1995 and are perfect hardcore tunes with a depth of emotion and killer grooves. Now they have them remixed for this new 12". Hyper On Experience goes first and lays out smooth chords, aching vocal samples, and planning bass that makes for a brilliant trip. On the flip, 'I'll Be There' gets an Ant To Be remix that builds the ragga influences, keeps the drum breaks crisp, and teases with samples throughout before the whole thing drops proper and no doubt explodes the dance floor.

Review: Since breaking through with the colossal 'Anybody From London' on Hotline Recordings five years ago, Boris English AKA Borai has proved to be one of British dance music's more cultured hardcore and jungle revivalists. He's at it again here, too, filling his Vivid label debut with a quartet of sub-heavy, breakbeat-driven bangers dripping in saucer-eyed, rave-style samples. He begins with the sharp riffs, pitched down Amen breaks and booming bass of 'In My Life', before upping the tempo on bustling breaks roller 'Dead Drop'. English doffs his cap to spacey early drum & bass on loose-limbed flipside opener 'Keep Steppin', while closing cut 'C'Mon' is an insanely weighty, pitched-down hardcore bomb.

'In My Soul' is full-throttle drum & bass with raved-up sirens and crashing breaks to get the floor in a spin. The Sumgii 160 remix brings elements of footwork rhythms, loopy and cut-up sequences that explode and implode endlessly. 'Tek Riser' is a bubbling and gurgling world of slamming drums and rubbery bass for big room action and last of all is a Shadowchild remix that brings some light with celestial synths and a more slow and pronounced rhythm.
